this is a painting/drawing done on prinmaking paper. it is about 2x3 ft. I was thinking about an explosive gaseous atmosphere while creating this, but at the same time I wanted it to have its moments where it was realaxing and beautiful at the same time.

-used-
-linseed oil
-oil paint
-charcoal
-colered pencil
-chalk

That's amazing. You've definitely accomplished what you were going for.

.&&; so what is an angel but a ghost in drag?
Uh, holy crap? I think you've achieved pretty much what you were aiming for, and with flying colours (nice choice of, as well.)
The calm greens in the top corner really does that relaxing thing for me, whereas the reds - and really freakin' interesting patterns - definitely give the impression of an explosion of some kind. Ugh, amazing. Fave.

gorgeous colors, I love it!
ah, that is beautiful. I love the use of colour, the rusty coppers with the blue/green in the corner really balance the image out. the marks made are really effective, how did you create the thicker circular marks in the centre of the piece? I think they stand out as they seem more controlled than the rest of the piece. But it's really beautiful, kind of like a nebula.
thank you so much, the circles were mad by appying paint to a large brush and rotating it like you would a compas
This is absolutely amazing. Awe-inspiring. And it's abstract enough to give people the liberty to make up your own image in their head (I see boat in a storm). Usually this kind of abstract art is only done with digital mediums, but after seeing this I don't think they can stand a chance to your style of doing it. Steller, to say the least.

And what's linseed oil, by the way?

I think, therefore, I drink.
no problem : ) was it quite a thin layer of paint? or did you use quite a lot of paint on the brush for that, i just thought if you used too much it might just create a big circular smudge, and the brush marks on your piece are really fine and delicate :\
